Guthrie

Just north of the metro, Guthrie has real character, and honestly, more going on than people expect. It's small-town Oklahoma with one unusually cool historic downtown at its center: brick streets, grand old storefronts, and a walkable stretch of local restaurants, boutiques, and antique stores. Grab a cup at Hoboken Coffee Roasters (one of the best coffee shops in the state), have dinner at Gage's Steakhouse, and browse the shops, and you'll get the feel of the place fast.

There are really two sides to Guthrie. In town, you've got older neighborhoods, historic homes, and mature trees; head out a bit and it opens up into acreage, shops and outbuildings, and country living, more room and more land for your money than you'll find closer in. And it's close enough to Edmond and OKC that commuting is realistic, especially with quick I-35 access, so it works well if you're headed to north Edmond or working from home.
